In 1989, The Offspring recorded the debut eponymous album, produced by Tom Wilson - known for his work with Social Distortion, The Vandals and Dead Kennedys. The band headed on a tour, but it was cut after Wasserman was stabbed during one of the benefit concerts. Standing as perhaps their finest musical moment, there are few songs in history that are as uncompromising, unapologetic, and unsubtle as Social Distortion's 1990 song, 'Ball And Chain.' From the first note of 'Ball And Chain,' the unique blend of sounds and styles that define Social Distrtion are instantly clear. Social Distortion’s discography was enlarged by the first album that was certified Gold in the USA in 1990. The self-titled record Social Distortion turned out to be very strong and it was followed by another rememberable studio attempt Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell (1992).
